GUM Story
Due to COVID-19, everyone started working/studying from home. During that time,
we heard and faced so many hardships. The news would constantly be reporting tragedies.
Our original inspiration is very simple, to earn some money and support those in need.
Gather up the strength of students and do what we can. With that, and the support from
schools, teachers, and parents, GUM was born.
As GUM grew, we started adapting. When we found that there were a lot of families in need sending their children to GUM for english lessons, we started our free lesson system. And with the feedback from students, we started adding more languages like French and Chinese etc. GUM now has speech courses, reading courses, public speaking courses, homework support courses, and even individually designed courses to cater to what the students need.
Throughout the growth of GUM, we also formed a lot of stories. An international student studying in Canada from Japan chose to take lessons at GUM. When she returned to Japan, she brought GUM along and started spreading it in Japan. Families that send their children to GUM would often send all their kids, some newly immigrated families would also choose GUM.
A lot of GUM students have even been with GUM since the creation of the platform, these students have grown alongside GUM. Some volunteers have graduated and moved on to university but still choose to teach at GUM. GUM recorded their memories, helped them leave their marks, and reflected their high-school years. GUM also helps with the spread of different cultural influences. Students and volunteers would share stories with one another about their own cultural habits. These are all meaningful things that we never expected at the creation of GUM.
GUM is more than 3 years old now, the feedback from parents and students have given the team behind GUM a lot of confidence. Now, with the years, we have created a website for GUM, and slowly completed a well encompassing course and management system. The influence and spread of GUM has also increased exponentially. GUM has a bigger dream now, we wish for it to become a legitimate language platform in the future, to have more people learn and socialize together. GUM shouldn’t be local, but global. We also wish for GUM to make more money, and be able to donate more to charities and help those in need.
GUM is a force of attraction, welcoming everyone to join this big family, and achieve GUM’s dream together!

Three years have passed, our founders and regional directors has grown into active community service leaders.
