Hello, my name is Johnson Jiang and I am a grade nine student （2022）at Rockridge Secondary. I’ve been living in West Vancouver for the past eight years, having moved here when I was six. I remember my first couple days at school—desperately grasping at the syllables, trying to understand what was being said as I had no previous English education. I was lucky to have supportive peers and teachers to pull me through and push me to become fluent in this beautiful language. Aside from my studies, I take interest in video games and athletics. In my free time, I would be sitting in front of a computer screen immersing myself in a variety of digital worlds others have created. I’m also a karate athlete that trains on a regular basis.
