Hello, my name is Lyvia Shan. I'm currently in grade 9(2020) attending Little Flower Academy. I come from a Chinese family but was born and raised in Canada. I can speak fluently in chinese and currently studying french as my third language. As a competitive chess player, I have gotten first place in my section in the "BC Junior Chess Championship" in 2019. In 2018 I had the opportunity to attend an all girls chess tournament called, "Susan Polgar Foundation Girls' Invitational" which was held in the US. And in 2018 and 2019, I went to the Canadian Youth Chess Championship. Academically, I've gotten recognition certificates from competing in Waterloo Gauss math contests in 2017, 2018, and 2019. I have also received honors rolls as a LFA student. Other hobbies that I have are reading, writing short stories, watching anime and doodling. I'm very passionate about teaching as I have had experience teaching two students chess, starting from the very basics. I hope that I can now pass on my English knowledge to the students in China and help them understand this worldwide language.
